Valley Bushveld Country Lodge

Higly recommended! We are a family of 4: parents in their fifties and children reaching 30. We spent two nights here and had a great time. It's a family business with an authentic wildlife atmosphere. After arrival in the afternoon the owner took us with 5 other guest for a safari on his own private game reserve. We spotted the giraffes in no time and stood very close. He gave interesting information on wildlife, his land and the giraffes in paticular. Dinner in the lodge, honest and tasteful, one choice. Comfortable, clean and cosy rooms. Real countryside setting. Early breakfast and off to Addo. Should have booked the Addo-safari with the owner Kerneel, but we had a good day by ourselves. Another great dinner and good rest. We left after breakfast with a great experience and will definitely recommend this to friends.

We only stayed for one night, but it was an incredible experience! Our room was smaller and basic, exactly in line with what we booked and paid for—comfortable and cosy. What truly made our stay outstanding was the staff. Everyone we met including Vanessa, Nico and the owners daughters were exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to make our experience memorable. The highlight of our visit was the giraffe walk with Cornelius, the owner. The experience was absolutely breathtaking! Cornelius’s passion and knowledge shone through as he guided us and later joined us for dinner, patiently answering all our (many!) questions. He’s a fantastic storyteller, and his presence added so much value to our stay. The lodge itself offers a calm, tranquil atmosphere, perfect for relaxing. Breakfast was also excellent! Overall, this is a special place with amazing people—I highly recommend it.

The room was very good lodge accommodation. Position at top of a valley with nice garden and a view of the veld and game on opposite side of valley was great. Guests can take a walk around the surrounding farm and there is a very good chance of seeing Zebra, many Giraffe, Impala, Black Impala and several other big animals, I couldn't name. When we drove from lodge to main gate we came very close to approx 10 giraffe and several zebra - without even trying. Another real highlight of the stay was the dinners!! Vanessa and her daughter, Heinri, do a truly outstanding job - its like a top restaurant but only a few diners each night. The lodge is well positioned for a visit to Addo Elephant park - which is another great trip.

Felt like a home from home, super friendly - excellent service. The whole place is spotless with fabulous decor - tasty dinners! Biggest twin room I have seen on my travels. The giraffe evening walk is a must do - just superb - up very close to giraffe and zebra and they visited our lodge the next morning right outside Vanessa, Kerneels and family care passionately about their animals which is very evident - thank you for a wonderful stay!

Was a lovely one night stay in a beautiful location on our way to the garden route. After a dip in the pool we went for a good nature walk and saw giraffes from a distance. The dinner was quality and so was the breakfast. When eating breakfast we could see Wilderbeast, and an eagle catching a snake whilst fending off a mongoose. An enjoyable stay,
